The real world is composed of various objects and dynamic actions from microscopic elementary particles to macroscopic universe. However, we can't see these objects or factors directly in our daily life. And, in the real world we live in, much of it is made up of intangible and invisible things; from human psychological things such as thoughts and emotions to credit in monetary value.
Information and communication technologies such as the Internet and mobile phones, which became popular in the 1990s, and electronic devices such as computers, smartphones, and digital cameras, these could now be essential infrastructures in our daily lives. Even if we don't understand the internal structure and principles of these devices, software, and services that support our living infrastructure, we can use their functions. Therefore, the fact that a particular medium becomes an infrastructure as part of its social structure means that an essential part of it's a “black box”. The real world is made up of these invisible systems, much more than what is real and visible.
More useful tools and services will be born in the future unless the development of science and technology comes to an end. As a result, black box continues to amplify, the real world may also be assimilated with part of the one.
I'm interested in the essential parts that govern the mechanism, role, and function of things that human emotions, social systems, global environment, and even the structure of the universe, etc. However, many of the invisible things, even those that exist in the real world, can't be scientifically proven. And then, these are supported by vague and sensory things, these can only be explained by vague answers.
The purpose of my art work is to present my own interpretation of the real world by visualizing what actually exists but is invisible. And by pursuing "what can be done with photography", I continue to challenge the expansion of photographic expression as a medium.
