The "Tokaido" is a Street had been maintained in the Edo period. At that time, people had to walk between Edo - Kyoto for about 15 days.
In 1964, The "Tokaido Shinkansen" was opened for the Tokyo Olympic Games, we could move between Tokyo and Shin-Osaka in only 4 hours.
We acquired a new temporal and distance sensation, our lives had become more convenient and comfortable. However, we've lost an affluent time in return for convenience.
The more it becomes convenience, the more we have a biased point of view to the world, and a sense of time is going to paralysis.
This work is a homage to Hiroshige Utagawa; - "Fifty-three Stages on the Tokaido", 1832, Japanese woodblock prints -
